Simple Windmaster Blind Measuring Instructions
What you will need
- Laser Level (Recommended) or Steel Tape Measure
- Pen and paper
Recess Fit using Laser Level (Recommended)
- Set up the tripod in a Central position within the range of all blinds
- When measuring for Windmaster Blind it is essential that the headbox / top tube is level
- When using the Laser Level to measure the top point you must use the shortest measurement (lowest high point) so blind is level at the top. The bottom measurements are to stay as is to compensate for ground levels being uneven.
- When measuring multiple blinds you will need to make sure the Laser Level is left to the Original Mark. This will allow you to keep all head boxes level to each other. Please see picture above.
- Use A + C = Left Side Drop and A + D = Right Side Drop. We use A as it is the shortest measurement (lowest high point)
- Fill the top gap using aluminium angles or flashings if required.
- When measuring off BRICKWORK, if the brickwork is uneven you will need to take a couple of measurements to work out the shortest width. THEN TAKE A 2-3mm OFF FAR CLEARANCE.
NOTES:
Windmaster blind needs to be fitted into square openings. If the top and bottom widths exceed 15-20mm or wider, you will need to use the smaller opening and square up to the area.
You can use angles 25x25, 25x50, 25x70 to infill gaps later.
Recess Fit using Steel Tape Measure
WIDTH
- Measure Top Width
- Measure Bottom Width
- If the Top & Bottom Widths exceed 15 – 20mm or wider than you will need to use the smaller opening width and square up the area
- When measuring off BRICKWORK, if the Brickwork is uneven you will need to measure Top, Middle & Bottom Widths to work out the Shortest Width.
- Take 2-3mm off the Shortest Width for Clearance.
HEIGHT
- Measure Left Side Drop
- Measure Right Side Drop
- If the Top of the Opening/Window is not level, you might need to trim the Side Channels to fit.
NOTES:
Windmaster blind needs to be fitted into square openings. If the top and bottom widths exceed 15-20mm or wider, you will need to use the smaller opening and square up to the area.
You can use angles 25x25, 25x50, 25x70 to infill gaps later.
Face Fit
- Add a minimum of 130mm to the opening width of the window.
- Use 50x50 angle to provide a fixing for tracks.
